My current Licence expires Jan 15 2020, I renewed the Licence and installed it on all my workstations. All is working fine except the LiveGrid. I get the following message The Credentials used to access ESET LiveGrid servers are not correct. Do I have to wait until Jan 15 when the old Licence expires for the New one to work? Please advise

Just upgraded to the latest ESMC. Is there any way to permanently disable Tags? They just take up space and every time I use a computer name filter, that view has the Tags pane. I don't ever want to see it, but now I am forced to close it every time I filter on a computer name.

We have a customer who migrated to a new server. Both old and new server had ESA 2.7 installed so during migration we would always have an active endpoint. When migration was almost done the old server crashed so we didn't get a chance te remove ESA from it. How can we delete this old endpoint? In the summary screen is displays the old server with the error 'Offline'.

We have custom applications for document management system which is built on top of sharepoint and SQL. Some of the services of the application were not starting unless i disable ESET Endpoint 6.5 firewall. Interactive mode doesn't provide any alerts. As a workaround, I disable the firewall then start the service and then enable the firewall back. Requesting your kind support.

ESMC VA: apache proxy cache cleaning

$

I'm running ESMC 7.x as a virtual appliance and have the Apache proxy enabled. I think I saw somewhere that the VA is pre-configured to do Apache HTTP cache housecleaning (using htcacheclean perhaps). I've SSH'ed to the VA and did a "du -sk /var/cache/httpd/proxy" to check how much data are used. Executed that command some 5 minutes ago and I'm still waiting for a result... 😕 Bottomline: is apache proxy cache auto-cleaning enabled by default? If so how can I check that it does what it is supposed to do? if not, how can I configure auto-cleaning (presume a cron job, but I'd appreciated the specifics for ESET themselves) EDIT: The du command finished, the cache directory contains more than 11Gb ...

Apache proxy cache cleaning on Windows: advice needed

Hello, I have ESMC installed on my network and a number of remote LANs, on which I utilized the Apache HTTP server, as per https://help.eset.com/era_install/65/en-US/http_proxy_installation_windows.html I did not include the scheduling of cache maintenance (end of the above mentioned article) and as a result the cache dir grew to over 4Gb (which is not that bad), from around 130.000 files in more than 190.000 subdirectories! Understandably, that was my mistake. I tried running the htcacheclean command, which managed to lock my AD server on which Apache was running. Restarted, re-ran the same command and again the system after an hour or so entered a lockup again. Rebooted for a second time, but somehow the htcacheclean had managed to do its job: the total contents of the directory were cut tenfold to only 340Mb, from 4.600 files in 7.355 directories. I've got a couple of questions: is the size of some hundred megabytes for the cache "logical". FYI, the remote lan consists of around 20 windows PCs, most running (still) windows xp and some running windows 7 in the ESET KB article above, the htcacheclean command contains the parameters " -l10000M -L12000", which effectively limit the cache to 10Gb (ok so far) and to 12.000 inodes. How do inodes correlate in my own Windows setup?

I am looking to install the Apache HTTP Proxy for the updates for my clients computers. Am I ok to install this Apache HTTP Proxy on the ESMC server or should I be using another server for this purpose. If I need to install it on another server are their specs available for it? Thanks!

I'm trying to install the remote agent onto an AWS instance and am getting the following error: I have opened the firewall ports for TCP 2222 and 2223, and tested them using telnet as listed in a previous post (https://forum.eset.com/topic/15968-it-is-not-possible-to-connect-to-the-eset-remote-administrator-server/). Any help or advice is welcome and appreciated.

File Security License on ESMC server

$

Hello ESET forum people! I have taken over the ESET management in my environment, we had to renew licenses for January 6th 2020, Did that, added some, things went well for the most part. ESMC is installed on our file server, not what I would have done, but it's there and here I am. This server also has Eset File Security installed on it. All the endpoints picked up the new license and are good for a few more years, however the File Security that is installed on the ESMC expired on the 6th. looking in the console it shows the license was not activated by ESMC, I assume this is because this is in fact the ESMC. Maybe it cannot activate itself? OR perhaps this machine is activated differently because it is the ESMC? The public license ID is a much different looking set of characters then our regular license that shows on all the other devices. Product Name ESET File Security for Microsoft Windows Server Expiration Date 2020 Jan 6 07:00:00 Activated by ESMC No Managed by ESMC No License Type PaidBusiness Our ESET license shows as "ESET Endpoint Security + File Security" with a normal 9 digit public ID. Shouldn't this license be able to activate the software? When I right click the alert, and create an activate product task on it, select my license (with open seats) it fails. I get the trace message "Task Failed in the security product" under the executions report. It's running in a grace period at the moment. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks,

Hi team I made the new installation and it shows no problems, but when try opening the console in the browser it does not load. I initially thought it was the Apache Tomcap 9.x, but it is running. I thought maybe it could be that the server would have several network adapters, but it only has one. The browser does not load. The only problem seen in the Eraserver log 2020-01-08 16:37:08 Error: NetworkModule [Thread 21cc]: Receive: NodSslWriteEncryptedData: Internal error in the underlying implementations., ResolvedIpAddress:192.1.2.70, ResolvedHostname:192.1.2.70, ResolvedPort:49266 2020-01-08 16:37:08 Error: NetworkModule [Thread 21cc]: Protocol failure for session id 3333, error:Receive: NodSslWriteEncryptedData: Internal error in the underlying implementations. Hallo, Since we updated to version 7.1, the ESET application report no longer works. No applications are shown. Removing and re-adding Computers to the ESMC does not improve this. All computers are still shown to us under "Computers" and the correct installed version of the ESET products is also shown under Details of the individual participants.

ESET Mail Security for Exchange "Approved Domain to IP" list problem

Hello, We have ESET Mail Security for Exchange 7.1.10009.0 on a Exchange 2019 Server. An external company deal with our newsletter campaigns . Every newsletter sent to us are blocked as SPAM on our server by ESET with the message "URL (7rhost.com) found on cloud blacklist. IP (54.37.102.74) found on cloud black list" I add the 7rhost.com domain to the Approved Domain to IP list... and ESET automatically added all the IPs related to this domain. I confirmed that the 54.37.102.74 IP is on that list. Despite of this, the incoming emails keep getting blocked by ESET Mail Security with the same message It just ignores the whitelist. Help please.

Update impossible from time to time

Hi everyone, So I have this reoccurring issue where my Eset endpoint clients cannot update as scheduled, it goes "download interrupted" in the event of the application. But then, after a few hours, it can update again without me changing anything (except waiting). I haven't found any time pattern, nor have I found any issue with my firewall (anyway updates work from time to time, so I don't think it is firewall related). This seems to also affect LiveGrid connection, which shows as "not accessible" when it happen. Internet access and DNS requesting is fine during these periods, no problem there. I already tried to empty the update cache, to no avail. So where should I look to try and solve this problem ? Anything to get more detailed logs about the error ? A bit of context : - several clients have displayed this issue, - Endpoint version doesn't seem to affect the issue (both version 6.x and 7.x displayed it), - There's an Eset management center configured, with agent on all clients, - it has happened for at least 2 months (I've arrived recently). Thanks in advance for your help everyone.

I created and started a client task to update Remote Administrator Agent (new version). It was updated on the client so far. But In ERA I still see the old version? No refesh. Client was rebooted. Is there a standard refresh / sync cycle? Thanks for a hint.

Mac client pointed at Mirror server now unable to connect to ESMC

Having recently migrated from ERA to ESMC everything is working fine and successfully updating our multiple windows servers. However, some new Apple Macs have been introduced to our domain and have had the the Mac ESET Endpoint Antivirus 6.8.400.0 successfully deployed to them and they used to show an up to date Last connected Time within ESMC. These Macs are on the staff LAN that has a staff proxy, along with a couple of windows servers. So I add the proxy details into the generated windows File security Installers to enable them to communicate with the ESMC that is on a different internal LAN. This worked fine for the couple of windows servers on the staff LAN but the Mac installer doesn't allow proxy details to be embedded within them. Therefore, I set the proxy details in the Policy that is assigned to the Macs but unfortunately they only show the Last Connected Time as the day they had their Mac ESET Endpoint Antivirus 6.8.400.0 deployed to them. It gets slightly more complicated as I also introduced a Mirror server and configured the Mac Policy and the Policy for the couple of windows servers on the staff LAN, to point at the mirror server to receive their updates, as I was under the false impression that all clients received their updates from the ESMC and not individually through the internet. Currently the couple of windows servers show up to Last Connected Time within ESMC, as they have the proxy settings necessary to see the ESMC on a separate LAN, plus their mirror proxy settings to allow them to successfully receive their updates from the mirror server which is great! However, the Macs also have their mirror proxy settings to allow them to successfully receive their updates from the mirror server which is working great but unfortunately they don't show an up to date Last Connected Time within the ESMC. Therefore my concern is that these Macs won't be able to alert any detected threats within the ESMC if they can not. Have I missed an important step in their configuration? Kind regards and won't be able to reply until Monday but appreciate any advice and hopefully I have explained this complex situation.
