Antivirus for FreeBSD mail server??
Hi,I am seeking antivirus solution which could be intergrated with my company's products(mail server based on FreeBSD). Eset has Mail security v4.5.15.0 for FreeBSD,but it support up to FreeBSD v9 32bit only(a little obsolete). However,I found most of its file is static linked. So it should be possible to install Mail security v4.5.15.0 in FreeBSD current version. Could Eset provide any assistance?? Thanks!!

Export of settings to 3rd party
Hi,
We've had a request from one of our customers for the settings for their Eset endpoints to provide to an auditor.
Just wondering if I'm missing something. I can't seem to find a way to export settings in a readable way to provide to this 3rd party so they can take a look at the settings other than a raw xml fileexport from the endpoint/a dat export from the ESMC of a policy.
Just wondering if there is something like the old configuration editor that can be used to easily view the settings in versions 6/7? i.e. something I can provide to the auditor so they don't have to try to decipher "DynamicDefenseThreshold" VALUE="4B" from an exported xml file.

question about the right licence
Hello,
my collegue from sales doesn´t understand the "small differences" between the different licences.
I mean he is selling 20 x Endpoint Antivirus and 3x Filesecurity. (has this combination the right for eset ESMC?)
There is no advantage about this right?
Purchasing Endpoint Protection Standard or Home-Office Pack has no disadvantage in my view and is more flexible and is also cheaper.

Eset Mail Security - research about dangerous file extension and log entry not 100% visible

understanding better which file extensions are dangerous based on the eset LOG (e.g. I also saw many *.img and *.iso with virus content)
a)
Question: Some ESET Mail Security for Exchange Version 6 and 7 has this Problem: if I go unter Log and Details the text is snipped / not full line, I need drive the mouse cursor over it to see the full style. Do you know how to solve? I didn´t updated to the latest version yet.
b) I would like to find out which file extension´s were blocked. (I am using the incoming rules)
Do you think I can do better / more "statistic, research" if I add more Actions into the RULE ?
I only know that this can be inserted, but I think the information is always in the log, I don´t need this actions:
Regel "%RuleName%" angewendet.

ESET 7.1.12006.0 on Windows HYPER-V host and DPM issues - backup jobs are failing

I would like your support for a strange issue that we have been experiencing recently. We upgraded many of our Windows server 2012 R2 datacenter hosts from ESET file security 6.5.something to the ESET file security 7.1.12006.0 and since then all backup jobs were failing. We are using Microsoft DPM 2016 for performing backups of virtual machines on hyper v hosts and with 6.5 version everything was working fine without any further configuration.
Below some further info to help you understand the case:
we restarted the servers multiple times after installation
once we remove eset file security 7.1 all backups are working fine
firewall rules on windows are set properly.
tried to install all windows updates
tried to disable all features of file security one by one without success
in some cases i was also experiencing issues like those described for 6.5 version here https://support.eset.com/en/system-is-unresponsive-or-crashes-with-eset-products-installed-era-62
as i have very limited maintenance windows and i cannot perform safe troubleshooting with try and error i would appreciate if someone else can share his experience or thoughts.

Auto Update to 5.0.4
I see that version 5.0.4 has been released. I have workstation policy set to auto update to any version but it is not forcing the update to 5.0.4. If I select Auto update to a specific version, 5.0.4 is not listed as an option. Is 5.0.4 being added to the auto update repository soon? I have a fairly large deployment so I'd like to avoid manually updating machines if possible

SMC Agent - Linux libcrypto Version
Hi!
In Ubuntu Bionic the OpenSSL version is >= 1.1.x (https://packages.ubuntu.com/bionic/openssl), and as documented, SMC Agent doesn't support this version.
I was wondering if anyone have an idea on how to install the SMC Agent in this OS (or others that use by default a newer version of OpenSSL)?
I know it is possible to install an older version of OpenSSL using manual compilation at least, but I was looking for cleaner ways of doing this.
If I ask in distribution forums I'm afraid they will say it is old and not supported... 😐
Any idea is welcome.

Eset endpoint security access for https port
VMWare workstation has the option to connect to vmware workstation virtual machines connected through network by the "shared vms" option, through vmware workstation.
The communication happens through https port.
If I uninstall my endpoint security , I am able to connect but not when it is disabled or when it is running.
Let me know how to add an exception to it.

Mac Firewall issue after update to 6.8.400.0
After upgrading Mac clients from ESET Endpoint Security 6.8.2.0 to ESET Endpoint Security 6.8.400.0 the firewall blocks access to local services running on the same machine access via 'localhost'
This can be reproduced by the following process.
Under ESET 6.8.2.0
run 'sudo apachectl start' and open hxxp://localhost in any browser and it should display 'It Works!' in the browser
After updating to ESET 6.8.400.0 the same process times out and the following is logged in the firewall log

We have a number of use cases where services are connected to on the local machine which are now broken, I have been unable to craft a new firewall rule to fix this without specifying the source as 'ANY' which is unacceptable for an inbound connection.
what has changed from 6.8.2.0 to 6.8.400.0 that is stopping the machine from connecting to services running on itself ?

ESMC main Detections screen "Mark as Resolved" disabled?
I'm not sure what's changed / what I've done to it, but I can't seem to select the whole list of threats and select 'mark as resolved.' I used to scroll through the list, looking for anything that wasn't sufficiently handled, and check all the rest and 'mark as resolved'. I can't do that from that screen anymore, though, for some reason.
If I go to either the threat details or the computer details, I can mark the threat as resolved. But, having just had to go through this about 300 times, that seems not okay.
Did I change a setting that I can't find somewhere? Did this get updated somehow in the latest version? Am I just being dumb somehow?

I've face the problem of not installing the ESET new version I mean version 7.2 on all system which their operating systems is windows 7 no matter what is their platform
the error that has occurred is : the installation was not completed successfully
At firs I tried to install antivirus by remote deployment tools, The result was installing agent successfully but there was no antivirus version on them so at the next step I install antivirus version locally which suddenly the error which i mentioned above occurred.
I read a lot about this problem, one the exiting solution was running specialized cleaner but it does not a good way and my problem is still remained.
Is there any possible way to solve this problem?

Uninstalled ERA6.5, now ESMC7 not installing
Hi, I replaced a Windows 7 computer that was hosting ERA6.5 with clean-installed Windows 10. I installed ERA6.5 and the install went fine and the web console worked, then I realized that the replacement was ESMC7. I then uninstalled ERA6.5 (I had not made any setting yet), and tried to install ESMC7. When I get to the point of it connecting to MS SQL Server 14 (that was installed by the ERA6.5 installer), I get "Failed to connect to server. It's possible that the hostname or port are not correct.
I found later that I should have just run the ESMC7 install without uninstalling ERA6.5. Is there an easy fix to this? Nothing else is using MS SQL Server on this computer.

ESET Product is installed but it is not running
Hi everyone,
an error is showing up on several computers (200+) after ESET Management Agent on the computers has been upgraded to 7.1.717.0 via ESMC.
The issue is present on different operating systems (from Windows 7 to 10 & from Winserver 2008 to 2019), and on computers with different ESET Products (from Endpoint Antivirus 6.5.x to 6.6.x & ESET File Security from 6.5.x to 7.1.x).
I do not understand why this happened so I was hoping maybe someone can help me out?
