Hi all
I am going to use ESET Endpoint at company.
Our company can not use agent of ESMC because of internal security so I am going to use stand alone.
Before installing, I need install package with customize policy of ESET endpoint. ex) scan schedule 12:00 everyday, some file path for exlcusion.....etc.
How can I make install package of ESET Endpoint with customize policy without ESMC?
If you know how to make, plz answer me or send email how to make.

Issue with ESMC Migration
I have one apparently serious issue and two small issues that I cannot seem to resolve in the aftermath of a migration of SMC from one server to another. These issues are as follows:
* The new ESMC server is not being recognized as having ESMC installed and running even though I can connect to the ESMC services on it using my web browser and manage it. The ESMC icon is missing from the new server entry;
* ESMC thinks the ESMC server is running File Security 7.1.12006 when it actually runs 7.1.12008;
* ESMC thinks the same ESMC server is running Management Agent 7.0.577.0 when it is actually running 7.1.717.0.
These arose as part of the migration of ESMC from a Windows Server 2012 running SQL Server 2008R2 to a Windows Server 2019 running SQL Server 2017. I needed to migrate to a newer SQL server due to the fact ESMC 7.1.717 requires a SQL Server newer than SQL Server 2008R2. I followed the instructions for migrating to a different server (https://help.eset.com/esmc_install/70/en-US/migrated_database_different_ip.html). While I had thought that I was following instructions to the dot, I subsequently discovered that the new server was still connecting to the era_db on the old SQL server. Immediately I stopped SQL Server services on the old server, backed up era_db, restored era_db to the new server, and reinstalled ESMC on the new server taking care to ensure that it was connecting to the era_db on the new server. I checked the About dialog box to ensure that it was connected to era_db on the correct server. I fear though that there may have been some actions taken that are reflected in the db that has since then been overwritten by the era_db from the old server.
Ever since then I have discovered these three issues and no matter what I do I cannot resolve these.
Regarding the first issue, I am unsure as to what the best way is to have the new server recognized as running ESMC functions by the very same server. Do I need to reinstall it (is there a repair function within the installer routine?)
Second issue: I have reinstalled File Security on the new server but the change is not reflected in the ESMC. From the ESMC console, I have fired off a software install task to install File Security 7.1.12008 on the new ESMC server. The task is shown as been executed and has been this way for the past 22 hours. I believe this has to do with the first issue listed above.
Third issue: this one is similar to the second issue. I have sent off a software install task and it gets started but doesn't complete. Again, I believe it has to do with the missing status of ESMC services on the new server.
All of the other clients and two other servers running File Security connect just fine with the new ESMC server.
I have yet to decommission the old ESMC server-- I will do this step once the above issues have been resolved.
Please advise as to what I need to do to get this fixed.
Thanks!
~Doug

ESMC 7.1 - offline - activated client licenses aren't counted in ESMC
Hello,
I'm planning upgrade (finally) from ERA5 to ESMC in offline network (without Internet access). To practice, I've setup little lab environment. Everything seems to be working fine, my test clients had activated and are updating, but in ESMC License Manager I can't see that my licenses number is reduced. (see the attached screenshot for details).
Here is what I did:
I've configured ESMC in offline network (with mirror repository and detection engine updates). Then, in ELA, I've exported licenses for client products using token generated by ESMC, and then I've imported them into offline ESMC. Using ESMC I've created all-in-one installer, including license and pushed them to test clients (one server, one workstation for this scenario). Everything went fine and smooth, both clients had activated and connected to ESMC. They seem to be working fine, they download updates and report properly to server, but in the ESMC I can't see any change in License Manager.
Is it normal behavior? Or maybe I've misconfigured something? As far as I can tell, the clients are working properly and for this (lab) scenario it is not an issue, however, in my production environment I've got many desktops and servers, and tracking utilized licenses number is one of my duties. Of course, I can always check the number of connected clients to ESMC, but I'd prefer to see it in License Manager, as it is in my other network with online Internet connection.
I look forward to some information,
Best regardss,
Peter

Updating Management Agent on client computers
Some time ago I deployed ESMC VA 7.x (can't remember exact version) in my organization, created All-in-one Installer (at that time Management Agent was 7.0.577.0 and Endpoint Security was 7.1.2053.0). I manually installed this to about 40 computers and everything is working fine. Recently I updated ESMC VA (it showed notification in Help menu) to 7.1.503.0, now I wanted to update eset software on client machines. I noticed that I can create update task but only for Endpoint Security. I tested it on my machine to see how this is done and it worked and now I have 7.2.2055.0. But I can't update Management Agent (to version 7.1.717.0), it shows "No ESET products, which can be updated automatically, have been found". How can I do this without manually installing it on every computer?

Issues with logging of Scheduled Scans
Hi,
We're currently using Eset File Security on a bunch of windows 2012R2 / 2016 servers
With the ESet Security Management Center managing the policies / updates etc
The one I've been testing with is using the latest version of File Security - 7.1.12008.0
A scan that is manually triggered seems fine
But a scan that is triggered via a schedule does not appear to show in the logs at all
Looking at the schedule this is fine so far (set via a policy setting which I tried deleting and re-creating for info), the scheduled scan is at the bottom of the list set for midnight
Next I watched and saw that the scan did actually run at midnight and shows up under the scan tab
so far so good.
Next lets click on "Show log" to see what shows
Hmm the date on that log isn't correct, almost as if it's just picking a different log at random
Next lets look at the Log window
What we're actually seeing at the top is the last time I did a manual scan not a scheduled one, the scheduled one doesn't appear to be listed
Checking the Security Management center, it appears to be showing the date of the last manual scan, not the scheduled scan
Typically for PCI purposes we need to show the auditor that we've been running scans each day so the logs are kind of important in this regard.

Can't block YouTube from Chrome
I'd like to block https://www.youtube.com/. In URL ADDRESS MANAGEMENT, I add a record *.youtube.com. I've tried IE/Firefox/Vivaldi, https://www.youtube.com/ been blocked. But if I use Chrome to browse https://www.youtube.com/, EEA don't block it.
If I block others domain, for example: *.facebook.com, then https://www.facebook.com/ been blocked in IE/Firefox/Vivaldi/Chrome.
EEA version: 7.2.2055
How can block YouTube form Chrome?

Parental Control / Web Filtering EFS
Hello,
This is just a suggestion but it could help in an environment where there is no possibilty to block categories of websites through firewalls
It would be much useful to have ESET Parental Control or somekind of Web Filtering based on Categories , like to block Adult websites , or other websites.

Cannot install updates after upgrading ESMC
I have just upgraded a server (2nd one) to ESMC 7.1 from 6.X and started to roll out upgrades to clients.
Every client is failing to install with the same error which appears to be related to installing the services. On the server, the upgrade process removed the old 6.5 File Server protection but then failed to install the update so now the server is not protected. A fresh install on a new machine worked fine, but I cannot upgrade existing clients.
I have created a package and tried installing it manually but the result is the same. I have scanned the server with the Specialized Scanner as suggested and the server is clean. The suggestion of using the Uninstall tool is way to convoluted to use on a server, i.e. safe mode, backing up settings and the risk of loosing network drivers is too big an issue to risk on a production server and is a server I cannot take down easily anyway because of usage requirements.
This is proving to be a real problem as my clients PC's are having issues with the Phishing modules and out of date software hence the reason I upgraded.
Any suggestions as to why the clients will not upgrade or install.

Update Failed
I've been trying to push ESET File Security remotely to one of our servers and it keeps saying "Failed to synchronize package repository. See trace message for more details".
I also have changed the server update settings from autodetect to "hxxp://repositorynocdn.eset.com/v1" and then vice versa but no luck at all.

File Security Anti phishing non functional
Today I experienced a similar error as this one, that recently occured on older versions of Endpoint Security:
Anti phishing is not functional, however HIPS doesn't seem to work aswell:
So far, all File Security installations on version 7.0.12016.0 on Windows 2012 R2 seem to be affected. Older versions of File Security versions of Windows server are not affected.
I was able to fix this with the same workaround as the Endpoint Security error:
Setting the date to something before Feb 7th, 2020.
Manually uninstalling File Security
Setting the correct date and rebooting the server
Installing the newest version of File Security (7.1.12008.0)

Bug in EEA 6.5.2132.5 found
After the Certfix issue of ESET , ESET released a new Endpoint Antivirus version of 6.5 6.5.2132.5 however a new bug was introduced causing automatic roll out to fail.
What happens is the following:
We install the MSI using a command line script and cfg.xml next to it for all the default settings. It doesn't matter if the install is started via commandline or manually but the following happens:
1. ESET installs with no issues
2. When the software is activated the update failed because no username and password in the license (this is correct because it is a local install and the update mirror is local and the license does not contain the username and password). In the CFG.xml a local mirror location has been designated.
3.You open Advanced Settings and check the update folder which is correctly listed as according to the cfg.xml along with all the other settings (although the profile name is weird).
Anyway when you press OK to save the settings
4. press update the system updates from the local mirror. withou any issues. The bug is that when you install ESET with the cfg.xml it sets all the settings as according to the cfg.xml file but it does not activate the settings untill you manually open the settings and press OK!
This is an issue as we have 1000 PCs that we need to do manually which is not an option at this time.

Deploy remote agent with Intune
Now that many of my customers are moving away from on premise servers I need to be able to deploy the Eset Remote Management Agent via Microsoft Intune.
Usually I would do this from Group Policy but Intune, as you probably know, works differently to this.
I have tried creating an All in One installer and wrapping it up as an MSI but this doesn't get installed, probably due to multiple product IDs within one MSI.
I can't use the standard agent_x64.msi as there is no way to accommodate the install_config.ini within Intune.
Intune will allow scripts to deploy software but these need to be powershell .ps1 and I can only download ESMCAgentInstaller.bat
Not sure if there are any other options I'm missing, so does anyone have any ideas on how to do this? I have no idea how to convert a .bat to .ps1 successfully

Synology Surveillance Station Feeds Being Blocked
Edit: I have narrowed it down to the "HTTP Scanner Setup" section. If I turn off "Enable HTTP protocol checking" the live feeds work without issue.
How can I exclude this traffic without turning off this feature entirely?
Hello. We are starting to upgrade our clients from their old security systems to Synology Surveillance Station. Basically there is software that is installed on computers that have to view the camera feeds. Eset is blocking the live feeds. Recorded feeds are fine; just the live feeds are being blocked. I disabled eset protection, but the live feeds are still blocked. When I uninstall eset entirely the live feeds work again.
I have two options for encoding for the camera streams. H.264 and H.265. H.264 works fine, but H.265 is blocked by eset.
Has anyone ever seen this? I have tried adding exclusions for the surveillance station software process, but no luck.

Eset Business Endpoint will not activate behind firewall
I have ESMC version 7.1.12006.0
Server was installed with standard port of 2222
Operating System is Windows Server 2016 Standard
All clients on the same LAN as the server install and activate ok, and are fully functional
Clients (mix of Windows 7 and Windows 10) on a remote customer’s network have a restricted connection to my local LAN. Port 2222 is open to allow traffic.
From the client computer, I can ping the server.
After installing the client, it fails to activate. Although the clients are listed on the ESMC console, but show errors because they are not receiving updates
When run a repair on the Eset Management agent, it confirms that the connection to the server is Server: 2222
The clients connect to the Internet through a Proxy. From a browser, when I enter https://edf.eset.com/edf it displays the xml code
<ecp:message xmlns:ecp="hxxp://www.eset.com/2012/02/ecp">
<ecp:response>
<code>20101003</code>
<message>Unsupported Content-type: unknown</message>
</ecp:response>
</ecp:message>
From the client, I have also tried to activate the client via my license key
After a long delay, if fails and says it could not reach the activation server with an error code of ECP.20003
When I try to activate via the Security Admin Account login, I get this screen about ‘Unit Distributions’ ?
I also logged the above message via the web site, and direct to au.support@eset.com but did not receive any confirmation that a support case is created.
Note, everything worked fine previously with v5 of the ESMC and v5 clients.
Please help, what else do I have to get this clients activated ?
