ESET Endpoint Antivirus Issues after Windows 10 Upgrade

I have a handful of clients with ESET Endpoint Antivirus which was installed on Windows 7. I upgraded 2 of these clients to Windows 10 and it appears both Windows Security tools and ESET are both running. What is the best way to disable Windows Security tools and\or Defender Firewall? On clients not yet upgraded, should I uninstall ESET before the upgrades?

ESET Endpoint Web Control not working as expected

We are applying a custom policy for web control where we allow specific URL's and after that we block a Category Group. The problem we are facing is that, if the allowed url belongs to a blocked Category, the user can't access that url. From the documentation found HERE, this is not the expected behaviour and the user should be able to access the URL as they are evaluated first. With the settings example bellow, we are unable to access WINESTUFF.PT because it's being blocked by the category based rule where we block "Alcohol and Tobacco" related sites. Can anyone explain if I'm doing something wrong ? Thanks in advance

ESMC 7.1 cannot delete computer

Hi, After upgrade ESMC to ESMC (Server), Version 7.1 (7.1.717.0) and ESMC (Web Console), Version 7.1 (7.1.393.0) i cannot delete unwanted computers or i cannot move comouter to right group / container (folder). Image attached :

Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: ESET Security Management Center Server. Product Version: 7.1.717.0. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: ESET, spol. s r.o.. Installation success or error status: 1603. Please Help.

URL Blocking Not Working?

Hi, I've a blacklisted URL for testing purposes in SMC Policy and it was applied in the computer as we can see from the image. This was working previously (correctly blocking access to the site even through a terminal curl command), however, now it is failing. Any idea why? Thanks

incompatible operating system

my company has windows server 2008 environment. my company bought eset endpoint protection standard. in scurity management center i created all-inone agent package with removin existing antivirus. i copied this exe file on windows server 2008 sp2 enterprise. i started i receive message incompatible operating system. is this operating system does not works on new eset endpoint protection. how reslove my problem?

MDC Connection to ESMC failed

Hello, i m running SMC and MDM on 2 different virtual machines, but i have problems with Communication. When i try to connect a mobile device it says: Communication error Mobile Device Connector on mdm.example.com is not reachable. Check your settings for the Mobile Device Connector in german: Mobile Device Connector unter mdm.example.com ist nicht erreichbar. Überprüfen Sie Ihre Einstellungen für den Mobile Device Connector I don't know how to check, In the SMC everything is green, the URL https://mdm.example.com:9980 gives me an OK. What can i do?? THX

Hello, I configured MDM appliance and added my winldcard pfx to tomcat, everything green and ok. In ESMC Appliance, i also made a certificate setting and password en i get the appliance on its correct hostname in the computer list. (set the date in de passed and tried like 3 minutes in futre, i have no devices enrolled its first setup) on the appliance the mdm appliance stays red more on this later When i send out a enrollment e-mail i get a link with the appliance ip in the mail, not the fqdn and offcourse then i get an certificate error its not on ip. The appliance is red because it says " MDM hostname does not match HTTPS certificate " but the fqdn is correct and if i connect with it green and ok I tried set the policy organisation (hostname no longer there) to my server name, and because of it's a wildcar also tried only domain. its is *.domain.com and de mdm is hostname.domain.com else i would not get a green certificate when i connect to https://hostname.domain.com:9980/ If i look up the warning i mostly find its a feature, i can no where in de esmc set the hostname (or find it) and again when i enroll i get a link in the e-mail https://<ip adress appliance>:9980/<device id> and offcourse then the users get a certificate warning. how or where can i change it to fqdn and not ip? En la última actualización de: ESET Management Agent 7.1.717.0 y ESET Endpoint Antivirus 7.2.2055.0 envío la actualización a cada computadora de manera individual y no general para ir monitoreando que se actualicen y verifique no. La mayoría de los equipos acepto la actualización del Agente pero no de la actualización del Antivirus. Tengo problemas en varios equipos que no actualizan el agente ni el antivirus y también cuando trato de instalar Eset me marcan el error de: La instalación no se completó correctamente. Tampoco estos equipos al mandar la tarea de desactivar los productos Eset no lo hace. Si desinstala los productos Eset de manera manual en la computadora y vuelvo a instalar marca el error de: La instalación no se completó correctamente. ¿Cómo puedo resolver este problema? Hello, We have a RDS server setup that runs all services. Connection broker, SessionHost, Gateway and Web access. The local network is whitelisted. External users connect through the gateway and bypass the ESA as they are whitelisted. We do have another setup with the same config that doesn't show this behaviour. External users on this server do have to acccept through 2FA Any ideas

manually adding computers already with agents

Hi, In my confusion, I removed some systems (from the Windows group) that I really shouldn't have. In realizing my mistake, I waited until the systems were up to ensure they were automatically added to the list again when their agents reported in. However, after waiting for an hour, the list of computers still lacked those missing systems. So I added them manually via their local fqdn. Even after half an hour, their status still show the circle. So I've got a few questions regarding this scenario. 1) Assume I didn't manually add those systems, how long will those agents report back to the ESMC server? 2) Now that I've manually added those systems, how long will those agents be 'discovered'? I really don't want to go into those systems and remove the AV and Agent and redeploy them. Thanks Edmund

replacing all certificates

Hi, Thanks to a recent pebcak fubar, the certificates are all messed up and instead of wasting time trying to find out the right one, I'm hoping to re-do the whole certificate setup; but, is there an easier way of reseting all agents' or do I actually need to uninstall all ESET products from all systems and deploy them again (I'd like to avoid this...)? Windows XP Boot Issue

Hi dears ESET Admins. This week we have many report from XP SP3 Clients that fails to boot. ESET Endpoint Security 7.0 ins installed on them. It hang on Logon screen and then Restarted. Unisntalling ESET Endpoint 7.0 from Safe mode will solve the issue ! We ask them to send us full log and ESET Log Collector to check. but before that any same Reported problem ?

First of all, I apologize for my English. I am using a translator to be able to write this. Along with greeting, I tell you my problem. In my work place we recently migrated to Eset Endpoint Security, everything works fine except for one detail. Previously from the support area we could enter a computer of our network through the syntax \\IP or Hostname\c$ and then using our support credentials, this facilitated the transfer of files and support work. Currently after migrating to Eset, this no longer works, when entering the IP or Hostname you simply cannot find the path to the network. I am not sure what policy to apply or modify to allow this, in the Eset Security Management console I can see details of the computers, including their IP address, however from another computer I cannot reach that IP, even by Ping. The previous support technician who participated in the implementation of the product in the company is no longer among us. So I have no details about it. hi .. When performing a Software Install task on computers in a domain with ESET Management Agent running, the user must have read permission for the folder where the installers are stored. Follow the steps below to grant these permissions if necessary. 1.Add an Active Directory computer account on the computer executing the task (for example NewComputer$). 2.Grant Read permissions to NewComputer$ by right-clicking the folder where installers are located and selecting Properties > Sharing > Share from the context menu. Note that the "$" symbol needs to be present at the end of the computer name string. how i can do step 1

Failure with older AMD cpus

I use a few Windows Xp client and in the beginning of (2019) november some computers had failed with the update from the newest esmc server. These computers had amd cpus from the early 2000s. I know that the latest working version of the EAV is 6.5.x for windows XP, but i can still use the 6.6.2089.0 with other hardware oriented pcs. I have problem just with the specific amd cpus or i dont know what was the problem. Later i detect that the pcs which had AMD oriented older cpus ended with blue screen death. I think that this caued by the ESET software. I can see now some logs in the event viewer which said that there was some error with the following module: em001_32.dll. Was there any update which could cause this type of error? I know that i must replace sooner or later this pcs, but im curious what was the problem?

Core install and Livegrid

Ran into an issue with EFS on Hyperv Core. If I install EFS using the core option on the GUI install it doesn't matter how Livegrid is configured in policies I get a message "ESET LiveGrid® participation is not configured" and I can't see how I can get LiveGrid configured If I install using commandline "msiexec /qn /i efsw_nt64.msi ADDLOCAL=RealtimeProtection,Rmm" as per the documentation for performing an commandline core install, then I don't get the LiveGrid messages. John
